Originally written for solo timpani and orchestra, Psathas’ Planet Damnation has been arranged for percussion ensemble by Dr. Omar Carmenates. Carmenates complements Psathas’ full-spectrum timpani writing by throwing a 12-piece percussion ensemble behind the timpanist. A challenging yet exhilarating work for those ensembles that can master it.
